Welcome, Friends!

I am so glad that you found this page.

Throughout my life, three things have been constant. I have always been a storyteller and educator, but foremost I am a perpetual student. It’s important to learn as much as possible, if you are to ever be an expert at something. I’ve learned a lot about a lot of different things. Some people might call me a Renaissance Man or a Jack-of-all-trades, but I usually say I’m more than an amateur at many, but I’m an expert of none.

That’s not exactly true though, and therein lies the rub. If I admit, I was trying to be humble, was I really showing humility in the first place? That’s for you to find out, I guess.

I love creating worlds and stories within those worlds. I hope you enjoy reading them, watching them, or learning about them.

Your humble servant,

Jared K Chapman

Books

Jared K Chapman‘s dark dystopian superhero fantasy murder thriller earned 5-Stars from Readers’ Favorites.

If the conflict of man versus society is the novel’s selling point, then it has a relevant twist that is enough to keep you turning pages. It has sufficient tools to dig into character motivation and explore options for a character fighting for self-preservation. Jared K. Chapman’s prose elevates Mario’s fight for survival above its horrific and melodramatic scenarios and in this has its bright moments.

Films

My interest in making films began in 8th grade when a videographer asked me to assist him for a wedding in Red Deer, AB, Canada. However, I have always been a fan of films and movies, starting with my first movie, Star Wars, when I was one-month-old. I know I have no true memory of experiencing it in the drive-in, but I was there.

In 2010, I started an independent media production company called redchapCREATIVE. I shot a pilot for a TV show called Culinary Animal. I was paid to write several screenplays that have not yet been made into films. Hollywood is a tough business.

I made several short films that played in festivals, and I continue to do paid work in film and video production. I have always loved the visual medium, and I hope to make at least one feature length film in my life.

Here is a collection of some of my work: redchapCREATIVE on VIMEO

Education

In 2018, I earned my certification to become an educator for the WSET Level 1 and 2 Awards in Sprits. Soon after, I started the Southern California School of Whiskey to become the only instructor-led WSET Spirits Awards provider in Southern California. Due to the Covid lockdown, those courses have moved to online instruction and exams. I enjoy teaching about spirits, and especially whiskies. This experience is some of the most fun I’ve had as an educator.

However, I am currently working toward completing my doctorate in psychology, which will allow me to teach psychology at a college or university. I enjoy teaching, building up students, and helping them on their own journeys.
